  • Wildlife Friendly

Wild flowers, copses and hedges have all been planted by volunteers, the management team and trustees. Bird and bat boxes have been put up to encourage more wildlife to the Green. Conservation work is ongoing and relies heavily on public donations.

The upkeep of the Green is by volunteers from the Management Team, aided by Wyre Borough Rangers and Friends on regular monthly workdays (usually the 3rd Tuesday of the month) when they carry out routine maintenance and improvements

  • Wyre Together Awards

The Millennium Green was the outright winner in the BEST ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP CATEGORY and their nomination demonstrated how the work of the Millennium Green and its “Friends” promote and encourage volunteers, schools and the community to care for their local natural environment and help to improve the understanding, awareness and appreciation of the area and its wildlife.  Peter Ryder picked up the award for the team.
